 | Sharm dances to Napalma’s sound! With Video! | | | | | Never one to shy away from thinking outside the box, Camel Bar has brought a new sound to Sharm el Sheikh. On Thursday 17th of July 2008, the fiery Napalma band was invited to play and rock the party.
Their fusion between Brazilian and African sounds, together with their sheer energy, sent the crowd into a dance fever which lasted well through the night.
The show had a base of dance grooves laid over with Brazilian and Southern African rhythms, all accompanied by powerful and inspiring lyrics in English, Portuguese and Shangaan (from Mozambique). As much as a mix like this has the potential to be a recipe for disaster, it’s instead the most awe-inspiring and energetic music that the GoRedSea team has heard in a very long time.
They are in Egypt as part of an extended musical project called Trans-Project, a multicultural exchange between them and the Egyptian band Rassala; after their summer globe-trotting tour they will be back in Camel Bar on the 18th of September 2008. Don’t miss it!
