Makadi Bay is an incredible place. It is both relaxing and exciting; only 30 kilometres from Hurghada airport, Makadi Bay offers great beaches, breathtaking views and, as we’ll see here, a painstakingly designed golf course.
If you are searching for a great place for a holiday on the Red Sea Riviera, or, in fact, a holiday anywhere, you can do no wrong by choosing Makadi Bay as your holiday destination.
Why? Makadi Bay is self contained, with quality hotels and very easy to reach, only a short drive from Hurghada international airport, which offers many flights to most major European cities.
If your holiday plans include such activities as snorkelling, scuba diving, water sports, the Makadi Bay is the perfect holiday spot. Makadi Bay’s unique location also offers the opportunity to visit the ancient town of Luxor along the Nile River or the ancient Coptic monasteries of St. Anthony and St. Paul.
Nevertheless, when it comes to golf, Makadi Bay is the place to go.
The weather in Egypt is almost perfect for golf. True, sometimes summer days can get a little hot, but you are guaranteed year-round sunshine and blue skies. In the winter months, when many golfers have to stop playing due to weather, it is the perfect time of year to tee off here in the Red Sea Riviera.
The period between October and April is incredible. There could be no better weather conditions for golf. What gives Makadi Bay a further advantage is that in comparison to other regional destinations it is more affordable and can be enjoyed throughout the year.
The golf course is truly an incredible sight. It is surrounded by lagoons, residential units and 3 salt water lakes. These are well positioned, as they are interconnected.
The beautiful Makadi Bay golf course itself is breathtaking. It is a par 72, 18 hole championship course covering 1.4 million square meters. There are 6 sets of tees in addition to a 9 hole short course with par 27. It is 7,500 yards in length, one of the longest in the region. 5 of the 18 holes overlook the Red Sea, while 3 others give you a beautiful view of the lakes, so you can gaze upon the clear, blue waters, as you play your round. The 170 foot change in elevation across the course insures great views.
The course can host international championships and is designed and built according to the standards of the United States Golf Association (USGA).
For those who are not familiar with golf but would like to try it, Makadi Bay is the perfect place to learn; There is a golf academy, a 20 acre practice range as well as practice holes.
You don’t have to be looking for a golf holiday to come to Makadi Bay, but there can be no doubt that this is one of the best places to enjoy some stunning golf in a spectacular setting. Whether your holiday is short or long, with the family, or even a last minute deal, Makadi Bay is a great place to visit.
