Awlad Baraka is a simple camp, where guests are warmly welcomed, nestled between the mountains and the sea of Um Tondoba Bay in a valley hosting several Bedouin camps and no tourist resorts. It is just 13 km south of Marsa Alam town, about 80 km from Marsa Alam airport and about 285 km from Hurghada.

Great shore diving is possible from the beach, situated approximately 500m from the camp, across the main road. Regular dive trips are organised to the awesome Elphinstone Reef, famous for its shark sightings, and to Samadai, for those unforgettable dolphin encounters; fine shore-diving and night diving on the house reef.

All accommodation at the camp is in a distinctive African style bungalows and straw huts, with 2 single beds each (maximum occupancy 2 adults and 1 child). Only the 12 bungalows have private toilet and shower facilities. Guests staying in the 18 huts are sharing separate toilets and showers with running hot and cold water, located not far from the rooms.

The camp serves Egyptian and Bedouin meals at the open air restaurant; snacks and light meals can be ordered at the beach restaurant. Else there is a bar.

The only shop is a small bazaar. Valuables can be deposited at the safe box at the reception.

At the beach different aqua sports are available with charge: sailing, kitesurfing, snorkelling, water skiing. Camels and horse rides in the desert can be arranged by the camp team.

The PADI Gold Palm Dive Centre is located right on the beach at Um Tondoba Bay, a few yards away from its house reef and 500m away from the camp. Because of its remoteness it is considered one of the most laid back centres in the area. The dive school has a beach restaurant and bar and together with the diving beach includes the jetty, the equipment wet room and the diving preparation shelter. The centre is run by professional and multilingual staff, training and guiding is in several languages. Daily boat-diving and 1 tank speed-boat diving, unguided house reef diving available. Different diving packages, courses and videographer service are available on request.
