Nestled at the foot of Abu Soma and directly by the sea, Imperial Shams Hotel offers its guests a comfortable and tranquil All Inclusive beach holiday, with a variety of water sports activities, and 3 swimming pools. Located on the tip of the northern Bay of Safaga, the resort is also a good choice for divers, kitesurfers and windsurfers travelling with their families. All hotels in Abu Soma face nice wide private sandy beaches with easy access to the sea, but only Imperial Shams Hotel is also close to a house reef for snorkelers, easily reachable walking along the shore.

Modern and comfortable, they are all equipped with individual air conditioning, international telephone, satellite TV, mini fridge, safe, shower and hairdryer; maximum capacity 3 adults. Superior rooms are located on the higher floors or closer to the beach.

An international sports animation team organizes a variety of daily activities, such as aerobic classes, stretching, water polo and beach volleyball. Activities free of charge: tennis courts (floodlight with charge), squash, billiards, table tennis, gym, darts, sauna and massage (with limitations – see All Inclusive). With charge: dive centre, waterskiing, horse riding and quads.

The well equipped windsurf centre with multilingual staff offers by far the best windsurfing spot in Abu Soma/Safaga, on the wide and beautiful beach of the hotel. In the morning, the wind blows cross-offshore from the left, facilitating trips to Tobia Island, and changes to side shore towards the afternoon. Directly in front of the centre, you can touch bottom and the water is perfectly flat; further out, you will find chop-hop conditions. An "Unlimited Instruction" programme is offered in a shallow-water training area; approx. 120 boards and 170 rigs.

The turquoise waters of Kite Bay commence upwind of the bathing zone; here kitesurfers will find a 350m x 150m waist-deep area, the first part of which is protected by a spit. At high tide, Kite Bay is ideally suited to body-drag and water-start instruction and of course for one's first few metres on the kite surf board. Experienced surfers can head for the stretch of beach upwind of Kite Bay; here they will find another kilometre-long kitesurf beach, perfectly suited for upwind sailing. The spot is excellently suited to all kitesurfers, due to its outstanding wind potential. As an additional activity the centre offers upon request (min. 10 people) a kite-boat-trip to Kiriazi Bay (Soma Bay). Kitesurfing instruction year round.
