Orca Dive Club Hamata, under German management, is a perfect starting point for impressive scuba diving experiences in the Deep South of Egypt. Daily boat excursions and a long house reef offer the opportunity to fully explore the secrets and beauty of the southernmost reefs which count among the best in the whole Red Sea Riviera. The house reef stretches over 10 km length and can be dived from 6am until 11pm, and with Orca Dive Club’s flexible diving packages you have ample time to explore the virgin dive sites of the south, including early morning and night dives. A long jetty leads to the edge of reef where its inhabitants are, amongst others, a giant grouper, rare nudibranchs, a big barracuda, and even a black tip reef shark is seen frequently. The dive centre’s famous donkey “Prince Ali” will lead you the way to the stairs down onto the edge of the fringing reef and helps you transporting your equipment. Regular daily boat excursions enable the exploration of the offshore reefs which count among the best in the whole Red Sea and where it is not uncommon to meet big fish in magnificent visibility. The most popular dive sites are the reefs on the legendary Fury Shoals, Shaab Maksur, Shaab Claudio, Shaab Sataya and Abu Diab. Transfer to the jetty in Hamata for daily boat excursions – usually 2 dives per day - does not take longer than 5 minutes by the complimentary shuttle bus. The Orca daily boats are well-equipped and feature modern safety devices. The diving equipment includes dive computers, torches as well as a sufficient number of tanks with DIN connections and INT adapter. Night dives and early morning dives possible. NITROX is free for NITROX certified divers. |
